4000 drilled airbox
Derick,
I drilled mine on my 5-cyl and love it. Didn't make a huge
difference but pulls to redline better. With an exhaust and filter with
drilled box, it sounds good and pulls strong all the way to redline.
Before it would die at about 5,200 RPM. After exhaust it would die at
like 5,700 and now with both it pulls to the Rev limiter, really suprised
me when I hit it because it came up so fast. Never done that before by
accident.
Seemed to make even bigger differences on my friends VW Jetta 1.8.
Well, dont know if the performance gains were better than on mine but it
pulled better to and sounded even better.
We used like 3/4 inch holes, pretty big. Put them all over, esp
on the front. Dont put any close to exhaust manifold thogh if it is
anywhere close. Dont want to draw in heat. I think we used about 8 holes
or so. And if you dont like it, you can always Duct Tape it shut again!
