Slip angle of 90 degrees sure can be instant rearward torque. It IS a switch,
it just has a volume control with it. Inputs to traction 'activate' the
switch. Lowest volume is 22r/78f. The highest volume is 78r/22f. Based on
the variables that activate the switch it can come on and vary volume between
max and min. To get from one extreme to the other, we only need to determine
what is oversteer volume and what is understeer volume. Right now, us Locking
Diff folks know that 50% (or 50f/50r) is understeer, and 78r/22f is oversteer.
So, really for the u-o-u in the same turn (or the bite), worst case scenario
we only need to adjust the volume (Tshift) by 28% max not 56% of Trg. Given
your "time" equation, we just halved it.
A torsen switches torque. The fact that the amount of torque changes, doesn't
mean that the device isn't a switch. That dimmer over your dining table is a
fine comparo, so is that crappy audi radio (another thread:)
