'86 5kcst idle problem
1986 5000cs quattro 193k miles.
Hello everybody,
I followed the SJM (http://www.teleport.com/~scottmo/index.html)
guide to adjust the idling on mine. Im assuming mine is MC engine.
It idles around 1200 RPM.
I followed all the way except the ISV part. Throttle switch,
temperature sensor all within specs. I tighten up the air fuel
mixture screw to bring the idling close to 800 rpm. Now when
I unplug the green wire fomr terminal 1 of the ignition coil,
the engine stalls, and there is engine oil light indicator comes
on at that dash computer. I also tried to look for ECU codes,
but I am keep getting 4444, which means there are no codes saved.
By the way what is ISV, what it stands for, and where is it
located.
Another problem with my car is that if somehow the engine stalls,
then I have to wait for almost 3-5 minutes before the car will
start again. I can reproduce the problem by just putting the
car in a higher gear, and force the engine to stall. The rubber
hose between the intercooler and the throtle body is new.
Another thing is that around 1.5 bar, there is this big jerk,
like the fuel cutoff. Is this normal or is there something wrong.
Thanks in advance,

PS: Did anybody read the March edition of European Car megazine.
They have a nice article on 5000cs/200
