RE: Body changes between 200 (C3), V8 (C3) and early new-gen 100 (C4)...

Here are few of mine...
With all due respect (and sympathy) for someone who likewise shares the bug
to modify an otherwise pretty OK car, I have a question: Why are you wasting
all this time planning a lengthy series of modifications on your plain-jane
200t? I'm as guilty as anyone of coming up with ideas that never actually
get accomplished but I can't help but smile as I watch the gears turn in
your head ... face it: You're starting with a silk slipper and hoping to
turn it into something that resembles a cross between a track shoe and
hiking boot! I suggest that you leave it alone -- okay, put some wheels and
shocks on it if you must -- and enjoy it for what it is ... otherwise,
you'll spend far more time and money than the car is worth (or deserves!)
and end up with one that's neither fish nor fowl, eats auto-trannies for
breakfast and can't be sold for anything near what it's going to cost you
(who's still unemployed, right?) to anyone who has any sort of sense.
I'm sorry if this comes across as being rude but over the time you've been
contributing to the Q-list, we've seen you propose: 1) converting your 200
to a 5-speed by doing a tranny swap; 2) converting it to quattro by doing a
floorpan-and-suspension swap(!); 3) adding a nitrous system; and now 4)
converting it into lookalike replica of the V8 (and I'm skipping all the
minor stuff like airfilter swaps, fender flares, wheel fitments, etc.).
If you really want to build a memorial to your father, find yourself another
4kq and put the motor from your 200 into *that* ... it'll be cheaper, easier
and much more cost-effective than anything you've proposed thus far. More
fun to drive, too! :^
Like I said, I mean the above in the nicest possible way ... I've been done
the path you propose and know it has a VERY dead end. I'm just trying to
save you the time and money of finding this out for yourself...
