No we _don't_ all recommend Mobil 1. Some of us don't recommend
synthetic at all.

Amsoil had the first API-certified 100% synth, back in about '74; M1
followed in about '92. Check them out at http://www.amsoil.com or
similar.

I've been using it for eight years in (total) nine different vehicles.
Use it in the wife's '86 4ks (10:1 1.8, 10W-30 with annual change, 3
years ownership, 130k total and 40k from us) and my '87 4kq (8.5:1 2.2,
10W-30 winter, 10W-40 summer, two years ownership, 165k total and 36k
from us, auto-x, boat towing, etc). I use Redline MTL in the transaxle
(Amsoil shifted like cr*p) and Amsoil in the rear diff (any old synth
will do back there, IMO).
