RE: after run fan on 4k/coupe
Steve:
Check the all knowing Bentley Steve but all I know is when my '86CGT hits 90 on the old temp gauge - the fan comes on, whether the car is running or not.
When it doesn't come on it takes less than 3.5 minutes with an ambient temp of approx. 75f at idle while stuck in traffic to overheat.
I can also tell you that if you plug the wires into your fan motor backwards the fan runs forever as long as the keys are in the ignition.
Isn't life's little experiences just grand?

.. now you've all gotten me curious ...
My old 1978 Fox has this "after run" feature, in that the fan circuit was
always powered, so if the switch said that the coolant was hot enough the
fan would go. The car also has a warning sticker stating that the fan could
start at any time. The '85 4kq seems to shut off the fan when I turn off
the car ... and I don't see a warning sticker, so I've always assumed that
was the proper behavior
.. I guess I'll be checking Bentley tonight ...
