Clever vanity plate spotted...
Walking across the street in front of my office this afternoon, I almost
missed seeing the green A3 1.8T that whizzed by in the company of two VW
Beetles, all three on manufacturer plates. This was because my attention
was instead directed to the black Porsche 993T that was waiting to pull into
the bank parking lot. Its plate read "NAZGUL" which struck me (and perhaps
any other Tolkien fans) as being highly appropriate...
Anyway, I spotted the A3 again later when I had to run some stuff downtown
to the IRS office. It looks funny to me somehow -- among other things, it's
much smaller than I pictured it -- and IMHO, it bears little family
resemblance to the A4. The fact that it had really ugly alloy wheels as
well didn't do it any favors, either ... why do car manufacturers always
seem to sabotage their designs by putting such fugly wheels on them?
Alas, my Yashica T4 Super snapshot camera was in my briefcase, back at the
office, so I didn't get a photo of it for my web page. I'll keep an eye out
for it, though...
