Help the new guy! ('88 90 v10)

I recently purchased an '88 90 5cyl w/ 110k as a project car. The interior
and body/paint of the car are in great shape (obviously never wrecked).
The engine runs pretty good, but needs some TLC.  I'm a long time fan of
Audi/VW but have little experience tinkering with their engines.  Somebody
please help get me started on my project by pointing me in the right
direction.

1)  I have notice many qlister's referring to the "bentley".  Where can I
get one, and are they worth the $150-$170 mentioned?  Are there any other
3rd party manuals that might get me started?

2)  The A/C blows very cold.  It is fully charged and has been leak tested
(no problems).  However, even when the thing is set to MAX,  I noticed that
the clutch is constantly engaging/dis-engaging.  Further,  right at 3100rpm
as the clutch engages,  it lets out an awful screeech for about 2-3
seconds, and then catches-up and works fine for a few minutes until the
clutch disengages and tries to re-engage when it wails again (assumimg at
least 3100 rpm again).  Is this just a bad clutch assembly, or...?

3)  Can anyone recommend a good source for performance parts for this age
of a car.  The Abt dealers say that there is very little for this year
model.  I subscribe to Euro-Car, Sports Compact, Motor Trend, & Automobile
and I don't see much in their ads for me.  I am planning to start with
suspension mods.  Where can I start for sources?
