I did this a few years ago for my Dad's Quantum Sycro. I used some
black vinyl (cloth backed) from a fabric store. It was cheap but didn't
look quite as good or last as long, but it was cheap!

BTW, my shift boot has a little hole that just started. I'm wondering if
I ought to put a eyelet in there to prevent further damage? I suppose
I could just let it wear out and replace the hole thing...
