Dan,

Do you have a multimeter ? if yes,  measure the voltage with the
car running at the jumpstart post under the hood and then check right at the
battery post under the seat.

They should both be 13.7 +/- .5 volts or so....

If the Jumpstart post say's 13.7  and battery say's 12.85 or less
you have a dirty connection between the two.

If this is the case, let me know and I'll send you all the gory details of
how I fixed this on my wife's 89 100.
