My wife's new washing machine!

 Okay, I know this isn't Audi related but as I am sitting here reading my q-
list digests I noticed what sounded like a damn turbine spooling up over my
shoulder. You know the sound. It starts out low and slow then builds up to
this high pitched whinning. Well I'm sitting here reading away and that very
sound starts coming down the hallway. Beeping too!
 Next, the kids start running down the hall screeming "its a jet!, it's a
jet!". By now I'm in my 'what in the hell is that' reactionary mode, staring
down the hall. Well, my wife's grin as she poked her head out of the laundry
area helped put the pieces together.
Turns out it is my wife's new Maytag "Neptune" series washing machine (no
sales pitch). Evidently it has this super spin cycle. According to the manual
(gotta have one of those) it spins up to 1000rpm. I must admit if I have to
hear a washing machine anyway, it may as well sound like a turbine. For the
price she payed for it it ought to press and fold too....
