Is bomb still used in Audi brakes?/warning light

Hi,

I was wondering- does Audi still use the brake bomb in its cars? If not,
when did they stop using it? I was doing some light reading (owner's
manual- I'm still trying to solve this pesky brake pad wear warning light
problem) and the manual makes no mention of the reservoir (aka bomb).
Also, the manual does not say that the pad wear light is indicative of
anything but pad wear (a few folks mentioned that a bad bomb could cause
the pad wear light to come on).

The pad wear light comes on under hard braking. The dealer found no
problem in the harness. I tried a jumper to eliminate the pad sensors
from the loop, but the problem persists. Aargh!
