I have adj. konis in my 84 4kq.  It also has eibach springs.  My front
shocks are set one turn out from hard.  If you hit a bump hard in my car
your toung better not be between your teeth.  Big bumps hit very hard. 
If you have stiff springs you should set the shocks softer.  I am
leaving my car this stiff in front.  The rears are 2.5 turns from full
stiff but I plan on making it 2 or 1.5 turns from stiff because I dont
have a rear roll bar and around bumpy corners the rear feels a little
bouncey.  If you have big rims they could get bent easy with sus. set
too stiff.
