84 turbo wheels

I wanted to know if the 84 turbo wheels will in fact fit on the 86 and up
g60 front brake setup. I thought that Audi made the change to the
construction of the wheels because there wasn't enough clearance. I went
to a wheel shop and the guy told me that they will absolutely fit the
fronts on G60 wheels, but with very little clearance. Who's right?
