I just went through the same thing less than 10 minutes
ago, but with the climate control system. Readout
dead, check fuses with test light, then proceed to
spend next hour checking connections (only juice
getting to memory connector). Everything is
OK, (well not OK, but can't be checked without
voltage). So, I convince myself that it MUST
be the fuse box (I had this out earlier in the
year, and it was corroded underneath, and I already
bought one from a lister). So I start to pull the fuses
out..........and the 30 amp fuse that feeds the
climate control is cooked, the plastic melted. The
fuse would actually make contact and test OK because
of the pressure applied by...the test light, no test
light, no current getting through. From now
on, I too will "think first".
