HELP! Broken PS Fluid RES
HElP,
I JUST BROKE MY POWER STEERING FLUID RESIVOIR! Now I need a new
one, that is not the problem. (FYI I broke it while trying to pull out an
AC line. I am such an idiot) Anyhow, what I need to know is how careful
do I have to be with dirt and moisture contamination. PS system isn't as
sensitive as AC system is it. I dont think I got any broken plasic in the
lines but when I put in new resivoir and fluid, do I have to bleed
anything like for brakes? Do I have to watch for air bubbles. Also, what
type of ATF do I use, does it matter. Are there different/better
qualities like with Manual Tranny fluid with RedLIne synthetic or with
Motor Oil with Mobil 1 and other Synthetics. Or Brake Fluid with nice DOt
4. I am after performance and longetivity. Price really isnt an object.
If I can not find a resivoir, can I drive with no PS if I
disconnect the belt from the pump and plug the lines?
Hope somebody can help as school is almost out and I want to go
home. Hopefully with PS and with my Battery in its new Trunk Location.
