Strange lights...
Last night, I waited until dark to align the new eurolights I installed on
my mother's car. Went to my usual place (behind the grocery store down the
street; it has a nice white wall and convenient reference lines that are a
byproduct of its cinderblock construction) and was floored by what I saw ...
one light had a nice sharp cutoff that angled upwards to the right side of
the road and the other light had an equally nice sharp cutoff that angled
upwards toward the _LEFT_ side of the road!
My first thought that was that I'd been shipped one each RHD and LHD light
but after checking the lenses that was quickly ruled out since they are the
same ... the only other thing I noticed about the defective light is that
the bulb position was rotated slightly from vertical -- say, maybe 10-15
degrees -- compared to the good light. Surely this can't cause this sort of
weird behavior? Any other suggestions before I call Metrix?
That said, I must admit it's rather nice to have the _entire_ road lit up
for a change... :^)
