re: Accident (with mild rant)
Sachelle Babbar described his recent accident:
[snip]
>It was very disgusting that she started playing up
>her (non) injuries and the guy on the bike who backed her up. It was the
>opinion of many on the scene that he corroborated her story because he was
>of the same persuasion.
[snip]
And then Karen Bretz <kbretz@alaska.net> replied to Sachelle's accident
report with a mild rant of her own:
>>Condolences. A friend was on a jury a couple of weeks ago that involved
>>a lady that was hit by a kid driving 20-25 mph. Anyway, she was
>>claiming all kinds of injuries and pain and suffering to the tune of
>>$70,000+. According to my friend it all seemed pretty bogus because she

>>jury awarded her $500. Hopes this makes you feel better - sometimes
>>justice gets done!!! (But it will be major PITA dealing with it in the
>>upcoming weeks.)
>>
>>Not to drone on, but my folks and youngest brother were involved in a
>>God-awful car accident about 18 months ago. A kid just blanked out and
>>turned in front of them. The front end of my pop's MB 240 was

>>mini vans who have nothing else to do with their time claim bogus
>>injuries.
Excuse me but some rant clarification is needed. Karen, is your objection
to people who "claim bogus injuries" limited to those who are "middle
aged"? Or just if it was a "lady"? Or is it only when they are "driving a
minivan"? And how, pray tell, did you determine that the individual had
"nothing else to do with their time"?
Perhaps the lady simply was of the wrong "persuasion", to use Sachelle's
dubious phrase.
Hmmm, "same persuasion", says Sachelle. I suppose that must mean they both
don't drive Audis, right?
