64-bit version of OS/390 ?

One of the pressures is new. OS/390 is also UNIX, and the UNIX world
is showing signs of staggering uncertainly towards a 64-bit standard.
OS/390 running in an LPAR can't really see real storage any more, so
the term "real addressing" in OS/390 is a slight misnomer - but the
fact is that very many shops today are running virtual:real ratios
two or more orders of magnitude higher than what we used to think of
as good practice. Within the OS/390 application space, linear
addressing of 64-bit spaces is less important - OS/390 provides quite
a few ways for applications to address more than 2GB.
