RE: Electrical warning ?
I heard or read somewhere that electronic ignition systems MUST be
provided with a discharge path to ground. This means ensuring a
sparkplug remains attached or alternatively, connect the distributor HT
feed directly to ground.
The reason I was given (which sounds quite plausible) is that the
feedback nature of the circuit means that if no discharge path is
provided, the generated voltage increases. This stresses the components
and therefore weakens them. Although they are unlikely to disappear in
a flash of smoke, their life will have been shortened. (A bit vague,
but all I know)

p.s. Does anybody know how I can turn off this bloody MIME crap? I've
just changed from Win3.1/MS Mail to Win95/MS Exchange.
