Two comments -
One, I think Martin Pajak did this. If you don't have his email address
you can link to his web site from mine and go from there.
Two, when I bought my Coupe the power steering was running dry. PO said
he "liked it that way". Seemed to be no problem, but after an
embarrassing date situation (awkward driveway, 5 point turn, "doesn't
this car have power steering???") I decided maybe it would be a good
thing. The little S shaped pipe on mine was busted and the pump was
shot - guess why the PO didn't "want" power steering? I replaced the
pipe w/new and the pump w/used and it's been fine ever since.
I don't *know* if it is really ok to run the rack without PS fluid
indefinitely, but I did it for a couple of years...
