Here is an interesting point that I have been interested in ever since
the q-list discussion of turbo efficiency.  TAPs 1.8t upgrade makes
HP similar to the Wetterauer chip (according to European Car), but uses
11psi of boost vs. 14.5psi from Wetterauer. 

It sounds to me like the Wetterauer chip is causing the turbo in the
1.8t to generate a lot of heat, rather than more HP.  To me, this makes
the TAP chip more attractive despite the slightly worse power/torque
curves vs. Wetterauer, because it stresses the engine less.

Any comment from the turbo guys on the list?
