Going to see 5kcstq, continued

[Last week's episode: I found an ad for an '87 5kcs(t)q with 137k miles.
The list gave me many suggestions about systems to check for wear. Many
thanks to everyone!]

Well, I talked with the mechanic the seller referred me to. He's worked
on the car for less than two years (not sure how long the owner's had it).
He recalled replacing the clutch master cylinder but little else of note.
I couldn't pin him down about whether the steering rack or timing belt
were new (137k miles on the car). 

I think I may have to take anything he says with suspicion, since he
called it a "very reliable car." I don't think I've heard any one on the
list go that far!

I'm going up tomorrow afternoon to see it, and I guess I'll find out what
kind of shape it's in. Thanks again for everyone's help, and I'll keep you
posted.
