perhaps it was the altitude. if i recall correctly, las vegas is at 2000-3000
feet. that makes a diffference compared to sea-level san francisco.

drove my current 200TQ to california the day after buying and it was
positively *ferocious* at sea level. up here in the clouds (5500 ft, salt
lake) it is merely *furious*.  :)
