A/C comp

I would be interested in the source for rebuilt ( Nipondenso ) A/C
compressors. Also, why does one have to change the condensor or evaperator if
the compressor goes bad? Anyone able to help? Late last summer my compressor
(85 CGT) started to sound like it was "throwing a rod". One service center
said " you need to replace everything" without really investigating the
situation. So I blew it off and figured I would take care of it this spring.
Well, it's this spring and I need advice. TIA
