   All of the Audis and VW's I've owned have this problem. And
   I'm currently on #26 (we bought alot of VWs).

My '83 UrQ doesn't.

Tarl's '90 80 (or somesuch similar set of year vs model) doesn't.

None of my friend's various Sciroccos did.

My urabuS didn't.

My Lotus Europa didn't -- in fact, you almost couldn't tell the window
was even open, it was such an aerodynamically clean car; course having
the exhaust manifold sitting six inches behind my left ear...

Hell, even my old Dodge Fart didn't! (of course, it "didn't" almost
everything, except teach me a healthy respect for the 55MPH speed
limit; that thing was scary!)

For the A4, we are talking serious WHOMPA WHOMPA, like "Oh My GoD I've
Blown Out A Tire" or some such; inexcusable in a car the quality of
the A4. IMO, of course.
