Not to start a war, but I've had nothing but excellent response from
Wetterauer. You're probably already aware of this, but the whole process
is actually quite easy. All you have to do is call to make an appointment
and your car will be out of service for 48 hours. I pulled the ECU one
night and Fed. Ex.'d it out. 48 hours later, I had the ECU in my car and
was off an running. The later chip revisions arrive by mail for ~$25.
Just snap the new chip in and you're off. Down time...~10 minutes.

FYI, they un-solder your existing chip and solder a socket onto your ECU.
I assume that they wouldn't be doing this on a fold-up table at an event
(but you never know!). Also, I think that many people want their original
ECU in the car (just modified)...not one that's come from another car. I
would've thought it more reasonable that they'd bring one or two ECUs to
let people try it in their own car as it only takes 10 minutes or so to
swap an ECU out.
