Hi, Michael,

Should not a VW tech with the resorces from a VW dealer be able to get
this information from the VW/Audi company direct?.

I don't know for VW, but for Audi there are a lot to be found
about tuning the cars or companies that do the job, using AltaVista or
Yahoo searchengines with the right keywords.
