Re: RE: 85 URQ for sale - how many 85 ur-q?
Mike,
RE: Federalization. Some things are simply unable to be done, regardless of price. Me thinks many here looked into such ideas for urq, S2, RS2, 959s, etc...
RE: 85 urq pricing. Just over one year ago a '85 urq was sold from Carlsen here in NorCal (home of Linda our factory parts connection). This 85 had less than 20k miles and was said to be in "prisitne" condition. Carlsen asked $16k. Was fairly quickly sold (~14k?). Another 85 urq in SoCal is mentioned here occasionally and a lister has picked it up. 60k miles, Sport Q seats, euro & US exhausts. Went around $13k.
So, I cannot (IMHO) find any reason to justify this >$20k pricing. Seems way steep to me. Again, I love this car and as exampled by the CQ I recently purchased, can always find a way to pay TOO MUCH for something I'm enamored with. But over $15k for most ANY urq (well, perhaps not an RR ;-) is simply hard to consider.

The not for sale at any price line
gets old. It insults my intelligence to think that others are incapable
of figuring out nicer cars can be containered from Europe and
Federalized for a lot less than "any price"
