Audi Cabrio (was: memorial day, small towns, and Audis.)
...and I was hoping that a lister might be interested in the '94 'Cab that
I have for sale, but it sounds like there aren't too many Cabriolet fans
here.
For my $.02 I happen think the Audi Cab' is a terrific car. It's a great
luxo-cruiser, and I much preferred it to the BMW 325s or SAAB 900s that I
also considered at the time. For me, the Audi Cabriolet came as close as
possible to being the "all purpose convertible". I didn't miss the quattro
system as much, since I was going from a '93 90 FWD directly to the '94
Cab'. The only complaint that I had is that I couldn't get a manual
gearbox. (I very seriously considered a transmission swap at one point...)
Since I am unfortunate enough to live on the wrong side of the Atlantic
ocean from Kim Collins, I've decided to sell my Cab', concentrate on
converting my 91 CQ into an S2, and maybe buy some other convertible as a
"third car" when I'm finished with that project. (If only I lived in the
U.K. - then I could have all of those desirable attributes in one car, with
some $$$ and assistance from Mr. Collins!)
...Maybe by the time I'm done with my Coupe, a TT Spyder (with 200+HP and
the Syncro 'nee "quattro" system) will be one of my options!
...and if any of you who DO like Audi Cabriolets are interested in buying
one, e-mail me for more info
