Thanks for the suggestion Dave,  since there are others that have
experienced the same thing I'll keep an eye open.  I am pretty sure that my
starting technique is to hold all of the other keys and the ring in my hand
while I am turning the switch.  I guess when I've got a free moment I'll dig
out the urq's suggested wiring diagram to see if there isn't some odd
interconnection going on as well ...
