RE: Why is my fan staying on???

It is the after run system. If the car is cold and you cycle the ignition and
the fan runs than the thermo-switch on the rear of the valve cover is stuck
open. The relay has an 8 minute timer that will shut it off. Just hope the
relay does not stick or you might come out to a dead battery. If the fan is
only coming on when warm than that should be normal.

I have an 86 4kcsq and now every time I shut off the car, no matter how cold
or warm the engine is, the fan turns on and stays going for about 5 minutes.
It turns on as soon as the ignition is turned off. Does anyone have any
clues? Anyone seen it before? The car doesn't overheat, and there is plenty
of coolant.
Thank you.
