Inst Cluster Pulling, was (Re: Fwd: A puzzler!)

Just to summarize from responses and set the record straight on what is
in my car...

I have an '87 5KCSTQ which has the same dash as the '86 to '88 5KCST and TQs.
The speedo and tach are electronic. So only wires are attached. There should
be enough slack in the wires to let me pull it out and reach them.

The suggestion about the metal retaining clips might be a good one. It was
suggested that they are located above the screw holes. My experience was
not consistent with that scenario. I could tell by pulling one side then
the other and wiggling the whole thing, that it was hung up in the
vicinity of the autocheck display. Since I spend quite a bit of time
tugging, and breaking things here could be costly, I'm opting not to
keep pulling! :-)

Anyway, if I feel like punishing myself again, I'll probably try with a putty
knife next time (to free the clips). Anyone know how to xray the dash? :-)
