Which is precisely the reason why I use an adjustable camshaft sprocket and
a pair of dial indicators on the cam lobes to determine TDC ... btw, on my
late '89, I find 6 degrees of advance is a nice compromise between top-end
and low-end.  A full tooth took away just a little bit too top-end for my
tastes...
