Thump

Rob has a thump from under the car and asks for solutions...

Rob - if as you mention that subframe has a wallowed out hole, no nut 
and bolt on earth will hold the suspension member in place.  If you 
know a hole is oval, I'd pull the subframe and fix it.  That's about 
95% likely to be the cause.

BTW - my genius mechanic who discovered this sez that head bolt 
washers for a Porsche 944 asre precisely the size neded to weld onto 
the hole to restore the correct size hole.  He used his last ones on 
mine and is re-ordering to correct a thump on HIS 5k!
