RE: Low Pressure Warning on 4kcs



Before you go to too much trouble with diagnosing the pump, do be advised that
the common cause of low pressure warning is the sensor, NOT the pump.  Also,
bad connections at the coil wire will give a oil pressure warning signal as
well.  The switch is under 20 bux.  Before I touched ANYTHING else, I'd
replace the sensor.  There are two, a .3 (low pressure switch) and a 1.8 (high
pressure switch).  Usually, if you are getting symptoms of low pressure switch
(warning with engine idling, mid throttle and upper throttle it goes away) it
is the LPS or the green wire connection at the coil needs cleaning.  On the
high pressure switch, that is usually a light all the time or at upper
throttle.  I would suspect your LPS first.

Don't get too upset about the warning until after you did the real cheap and
basic stuff.
