I think that you are right in the statement that you should always go by the
fluid number indicated on the reservoir.

The thing that I am wondering is has anyone out there actually seen the
synthetic liquid?  I saw both for sale at a local auto parts chain ... BOTH
of them were green fluids ... the CAP on the non-synthetic stuff was green
but red on the synthetic stuff.
