Shift to a lower gear, and press on the accelerator harder :-)
Actually this is only a half joke. I don't know whether the 30V cars
are any different, but on my A4 2.8q 12V the accelerator has a very
long travel and the secondary throttle butterfly doesn't open until
you're fairly far down. The car accelerates quite nicely when you mash
the throttle and the RPM is wound up to about 4000...
Also, don't forget, while reasonably quick, the A4q is not a light car
at 3300+ lbs. You're not going to win drag races with everything out
there, and it's pointless to try.
