Hmmmm... must have been holding up traffic if you were in the left lane. I
thought 160kph was OK in the rain, until a Twingo passed me. (Know this
car? A shoebox with wheels - a modern Mini).

 If I recall, there are only about four or five restricted zones (with a
limit) all the way from Hamburg to Deusseldorf. So a 105 mph average is, if
anything, "normal"?

Wouldn't this only be true in a vacuum? Something about aerodynamic drag
increasing
with the square of velocity? (help me out, here).
