Susquehannock Trail Pro Rally.."those crazy Irish are at it again!"

Hi to all Q posters!! I promissed a review of our rally when I got back.
It's been a week and I'm still flying! This had to be one of the best
rallies I've ever been on!. We ran a non-hairdryer 4000q in open
class(suicide) and bested some very good teams! Our rally start back in
48th place on the road. We got through tech ok and even managed to have
shifter problems on the way to the practice stage. once we got that
fixed we went to the local steakhouse for some good meat and of course
a couple of barley pops. The day Saturday was bright and we looked
forward to that first killer stage that takes you across the Stoney Fork
creek. We taped off the airbox to keap from ingesting water. This made
the first stage a little slow because the darn motor was breathing well.
We left one side of the box open, but it was not enough. We went into
service and took the tape off. AHH the power is back now. The next few
stages went well. Alot of carnage is seen. Paul's Hyundai is up on a
hill facing the road. HHmmmm, it seems he hit a fern plant that hid a
stump. Three rolls no waiting! OUCH!	The evening brought a killer 18
mile stage that really takes all of your skills to survive. HALFWAY
through the shifter comes loose and I can't select gears. I did
switchbacks and the like in only 3rd gear.	We still turned a great
time!! Maybe I shouldn't shift anymore!! Ok, I did miss second
gear...We had a great fight with James Kuhn. He was also in a
non-haidryer 4000q. It was nice to race with someone who actually would
talk to you at service stops. Hey, James!! nice to meet you! It was a
long event and we made it to the bloody end. We finished 25th overall
and 10th in open class. Not to shabby If I may say so. It was great to
ride with the surpurb Tony Lumino. He is one great navigator. I aslo had
the nice experience of meeting some of the Q listeners. I would also
like to say hi to Hans from Germany who showed up at Tech and later
during service on Saturday. Thanks for sharing your	pictures with us. I
hope to see you again. Look us up if you are ever back here in the
States again! I could write volumes about this rally. I have never gone
so fast and it was a treat. The roads are great!! Since, I was a little
kid this has been my idea of the Super Bowl of American rally. It
certainly was my greatest run to date. Bye the way, there were alot of
my fellow Irish drivers who did well also. I was nice to meet some of
the boys from New York. It was a grand day!!! Mike Burke Irish
