Hi Rob;

    You don't say what year and model of car you have. I had this problem on
a '86 5ktq. I drilled an access hole in the fan housing, inserted a wire
which touched the fan shaft at the front bearing (the bearing nearest the
fan wheel), and ran drops of WD-40 down the wire onto the shaft. This
silenced the squeak. I had to pull the whole assembly a year later to
replace the heater core and I cleaned and lubed the fan motor bearings at
the same time. Never heard another peep out of it!
