Rustang Owner Comes Clean
A good friend of mine has finally considered coming over to the Dark
Side.
I share his note and my reply with you, hoping some have something to
add.
He wants feedback. Reply privately to ThomasCL@Miavx1.MUOhio.edu
Keep the "Ford Sucks" thread to yourself.
Keep the Torsen stuff to yourselves, too.
I am serious this time about getting rid of my problem. no more

How about this ad from the Quattro Marketplace, maybe sold by now: 1991
Audi 200 Quattro. 90K. Gold/tan leather heated seats (that work!).
20Valve 217 HP stock engine with $6000 in performance modifications,
approx 300 HP, VERY fast. Spare wheels (2 sets) & snows (Pirelli
P210s on stock BBS rims). RS2 turbo, Hoppen chip, Eibach springs,
Bilstein
shocks, Updated brakes (S4) cross drilled rotors with carbon
fibre pads on all four corners. Second owner, all maint records, very
well maintained.
Bought S6 for more head (helmet) room . Can be seen on Cape Cod
Asking.$15,900.00 Expensive, but its the best.
Couldn't tell you about Bimmers, but here's my take:
88-90 Porsche 944S. Still N/A for lower maintenance bills but increased
ratio for faster times than stock 944. I attest that 944s handle like
(expletive). Still a Porsche, though-- not a car you take to Sears for
Service. You can drive my regular 944 and imagine what a faster one
would drive like.
88-90 Porsche 944 Turbo. An underrated car. I think it could give A
Rustang GT a challenge off the line, kill it in the twisties. Prepare to
keep a grand on hand for emergency repairs.
90 Porsche 944, stock. Much easier to afford, maintain, and simply not
as fast. Boo-hoo.
90-91 Audi Coupe Quattro. In my opinion, the most reliable car of the
bunch. N/A only, no known reasonable, significant performance mods. The
best looking and most practical car in the set. AWD good in the snow,
arguably better handling, especially at 8 or 9 tenths. Rare and
distinctive, a little bit stealth.
91 Audi 200 Turbo Quattro. Maybe your best choice. Mods can make these
really fast. Make sure it's a 20valve. It will be a bigger car, similar
to my Audi. Upgrades will take it past 300 HP. It handles very nicely,
and comes in a wagon version-- the ultimate in stealth. Can be had on
the low side of your range.
Remember, as I'm sure you know, German cars do not cost too much to
maintain IF YOU FOLLOW ROUTINE SERVICE FANATICALLY.
