Electric mirror motors not working

I thought the same - broken wire in the door.  But I got volts, and
jumpering the connector produces mirror movement.

So I stripped the switch.  On the ur-quattro, the left/right flipover
switch is _amazingly_ poorly protected against general shit ingress
from the top.  Washed it in meths, wet'n'dried it, put it back together
and Bingo!  I can move both mirrors from the comfort of my (recently
renovated) driver's seat.

Team Doorhandle seems to have had influence in switch design, too.
