weird engine dying problem (poss audi content)
have an 82 porsche 924 turbo (audi content: motor originally designed by audi)
my dad finally gave up on and gave to me. driving home from his house, make a
90 degree left hand turn at moderate cornering force and the darn thing just
died on me--no sputtering, just died!
checked fuel pump fuse, seemed ok.
have spark.
removed injector, fuel not shooting out. hmm.
tried fiddling with fuel pump relay under dash: the board it plugs into is not
solidily in its housing, whole thing moves when i re-insert relay.
various cussing/banging around engine room, and it miraculously starts!!
take it for spin around block, seems to run okay for what it is. get in front
of house, decide i'm having fun and continue down the street. think the better
of it and spin a u-turn mid-block (to the left) and the damn thing dies again!
tried removing/re-inserting fuel pump relay.
remove injector, no fuel when cranking.
have spark.
