lighting upgrade

My '86 4kcsq has new-to-me Euro lights, all properly fused and relayed,
plus a new unmelted headlight switch and connector.  We want to upgrade
the bulb from 55-100 to 135-180.  The wiring is upgraded and will handle
the additional load.  Is anyone running this wattage?  Is the headlight
>unit able to dissipate the heat (3x standard)?

Also, the mechanical odo quit working about a month ago.  The shaft
slipped out one end and will no longer turn the numbers.  Does anyone
remember where in the archives the official fix is?  I seem to remember
a long discussion in '97 but I can't find the proper archive digest.
