RE: quattro-digest V4 #2377
Just fitted K&N filter to my A4 1.8T - went in easily after removing the
heat shield on side of the air-box (prevents cut fingers!!). Fitted like a
glove - no probs. 30 minute job.
K&N list the #33-2675 for the 86 and 97 2.8 - the 1.8 airbox is same AFAIK.
Results - feels/sounds smoother and less turbo lag - I also have MTM 187
chip and Remus exhaust so not sure if standard 1.8T would get same effect.

Subject: A4 Jamex Filter
Just installed the Jamex "Sport" filter in my A4.... all I can say is
"WHAT A PITA!"
I followed the well-detailed and illustrated instructions on the A4.org
FAQ page, but nearly gave up after about 3 cut fingers, and lots of
cussing. Come to find out, the jamex filter is a shaped a little
different along the top than the OEM. Thus, it was close to impossible
to re-clip the top of the airbox back on. Just in case anyone on the
list is considering the Jamex filter, don't bother. I understand K&N
has one out now, I would recommend trying it if you really gotta have
one.
