92 S4 Engine problem after wash

Sorry to hear about your car, that's gotta suck.

I sprayed the engine a few times with water (hose + sprayer), and a few
with degreaser & then water. I didn't have any problems like yours, but I
felt like it was a Bad Idea. I had a problem once when I accidently soaked
the air filter with water. Then it didn't run very well, so I replaced it
and it was all cool.
