Actually it ain't that bad, the reason I asked about the crazy speedo needle
is that it would be a lot easier to work in there without the speedo dial and
face in the way. I managed to get it to work for about 5 miles before the pin
fell back out so it is back in there to look again. I think I may break down
and call a guage shop to see what they would charge if I pull the unit and
bring it to them.

Thanks for all the input. Sounds like Audi has wasted a ton of all of our time
on a little defect in a part.... oh well, so many little parts, so little
time.
