I disagree.  If you had a maxima and only had to deals with a minor trans
repair over 200k, then you were very lucky indeed.  Must have either had the
car from new and done regular service always(ie timing belt, etc.).. or?

I for one love my v8 and have only had a few things to replace and work on.
Its a MUCH more sophisticated vehicle than the older maxima.  It was almost
hand built by audi standards also.  It all depends on what you want from a
car.  I will always by a used car, due to deprecian on ANY car, and also
because of the miles I put on it and I'd much rather be involved in and
accident in my big 'ol v8 than the maxima.  Oh, sure, I've got to replace two
rear tie rods in the rear and the ac condensor, but what the heck, I've almost
got 187,000 miles on this car and she's still solid as a rock.
