Partially Locking Diffs

I've seen some kits for sale on the www that appear to modify diffs to add
partial locking (40% or 80%) for VW diffs.  It sure seems to me that these
kits might just plug into the diff units on a q ... perhaps even the center
diff.  Does anyone know if this is true or not?  The numbers they give
almost appear to be VW part numbers ... here they are:

	020 498 040 AZ - 40% locker
	020 498 080 AZ - 80% locker

Any comments about the advantages/disadvantages of installing these things
would be appreciated as well!
